You should be able to understand what you are buying. Our product information identifies the stone, setting, measurements and any accompanying documentation for the individual piece. If anything is unclear, ask contact@greign.com before ordering.
Stone identity and treatments
“Jade” is a broad trade term. Where a piece is described as jadeite, that is the material being represented. We disclose known treatments relevant to the item rather than assuming all stones have the same treatment status.
In the jadeite trade, “Type A” generally describes natural jadeite that has not been chemically bleached, dyed or impregnated; traditional surface waxing may be present. It describes treatment status, not an overall quality grade, a geographic origin or a promise of value. We use this description only where supported for the item.
Colour, translucency, texture and natural inclusions vary. An inclusion or colour boundary is not automatically a crack, and visible damage should not simply be dismissed as “natural”. We will answer reasonable questions about the condition of the piece and any material characteristics disclosed in its listing.
Photographs and measurements
Product images help show the item’s appearance. Lighting, magnification and screen settings affect how it looks. Where a photograph is a sample or a styling image rather than the exact stone supplied, this should be identified in the listing.
Read the listed dimensions and metal specification rather than judging size or material from photographs. Approximate measurements will be identified as such. Check whether an image includes a chain or other accessory that is sold separately.
Laboratory reports and certificates
A report is included only when the product page or your written order confirmation says so. The issuing laboratory, report reference and stated findings apply to the item described in that report. We do not imply that every GREIGN item has an independent laboratory report.
A laboratory identification report is not automatically a valuation, insurance appraisal or guarantee of future resale value. Some reports identify the material and detectable treatments without stating geographic origin. Check the scope of the document and ask us if you would like help reading it.
Where an issuing laboratory offers verification, use its official service and match the report details to the item. Keep original reports with your purchase records. If a document is lost, contact us; replacement depends on the issuer’s rules and may involve a fee or re-examination, which we will explain first.
Origin and sourcing claims
We make geographic origin, recycled-metal or other sourcing claims only where they are supported for the relevant item. The place where a piece is designed or set is not necessarily where its stone was mined. A product policy does not establish traceability for a stone on its own.
If you have an authenticity concern
Contact us with the order details, your concern and any independent report you have. We will review the evidence and explain the next steps. You may obtain an independent opinion; where re-testing is proposed, we will discuss the laboratory, item handling and potential costs in advance.
If an item is materially misdescribed, we will provide the remedy required by law and address reasonable necessary verification costs as applicable. We will not make a valid claim depend solely on GREIGN’s own opinion. See our Returns and Refunds Policy.
Jewellery descriptions do not promise health effects, financial returns, future appreciation or a buyback service.
